1. Basic policy

This software is a creative-support tool for enjoying conversations with characters, timeline posts, roleplay, creative notes, screenshots, and more, using a local LLM. The policy is to let purchasers use it as freely as possible for their own creative activities, but distributing, reposting, or selling the distribution files themselves without permission is prohibited.

2. What you may do

Purchasers may install and use this software on devices they personally manage and control. Use on multiple PCs normally managed by the purchaser is allowed. Generated text, screenshots, and settings or notes you entered or edited yourself may be used for personal use, publishing, posting, streaming, doujin activities, and commercial or non-commercial creative activities.

This software may be used by both individuals and corporations, as long as it was obtained legitimately. For corporate use, please purchase one copy per user, not one copy per organization.

Streaming with this software is allowed, including monetization through each streaming platform’s official monetization features. When monetizing a stream, please credit this software in the stream description or a similar place.

3. Prohibited acts

The following are prohibited: redistributing the zip, folders, executables, source code, bundled assets, or modified versions to third parties; reposting or mirror distribution; unauthorized sale; sharing that lets non-purchasers keep using it; extracting and distributing internal assets; reverse engineering; removing license notices; use that violates laws or terms of services; and exposing the app directly to the internet.

4. Modifications

Purchasers may edit, for their own use, the data and settings this software designates as user-editable. This includes character profiles, worlds, profiles, notes, generated and saved data, in-app settings, translation data, and color palette data. As an exception, translation data and color palette data may be modified, copied, imported into this software, redistributed, translated, and adapted as standalone add-on data. However, they may not be distributed together with the Role Garden WebUI itself, its executables, source code, internal prompts, bundled UI assets, image assets, third-party license notices, copyright notices, or any other components of the software.

5. Rights and responsibility for generated content

The author claims no rights over text or screenshots that purchasers generate with this software. However, use of generated content is at the purchaser’s own responsibility.

6. About local LLMs, Ollama, and models

This software uses Ollama and LLM models running on Ollama. Neither Ollama itself nor any LLM model is bundled. Ollama and each model are subject to their own licenses, terms, prohibited uses, and disclaimers.

7. About LAN sharing and PIN authentication

LAN sharing is a feature for use within trusted networks such as your home. It is not intended for direct exposure to the internet. Communication is over HTTP and is not encrypted. Devices authenticated with the PIN gain administrative access.

8. Data storage and backup

Characters, worlds, DMs, timelines, images, logs, and other data are stored on the purchaser’s PC. Back up important data yourself against corruption, deletion, overwriting, failed migration, PC failure, and so on.

9. Third-party licenses

This software includes third-party assets such as Tabler Icons, Twemoji code, and Twemoji graphics. See the bundled THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md and each license file for details (Third-Party Licenses).

10. Disclaimer

This software is provided as is. The author does not guarantee completeness, continuity, or accuracy of operation, fitness for a particular purpose, quality of generated output, data retention, or compatibility with third-party services or models.

11. Support and updates

The author may provide fixes and updates, but does not promise continuous updates, guaranteed operation in individual environments, or individual customization.

12. Changes to these terms

The author may change these terms as necessary. Changes significantly disadvantageous to existing purchasers will be announced via the BOOTH product page, BOOTH messages, the official X account, or similar.
